Bayul Khenpalung

"Ne Khenpalung"

"Beyul Khenpalung" is located in Silichong Village, Ward No-5, Sankhuwasabha District. According to Kimdanti, long ago Buddhist followers took shelter here and Buddhist Guru Sri Padmasambhava also meditated in this cave. "Beyul Khenpalung" was historically named by the Buddhist guru Sri Padmasambhava around the seventh century. In the Sherpa language, "Beyul" means Hidden Valley, "Khenpa" means Titepati, and "Lung" generally means country. Experts say that it may be called "Beyul Khenpalung" because there is a lot of black pepper in this area, but the Sherpas know this place as "Ne Khenpalung". The name of the cave where Buddhist guru Sri Padmasambhava meditated is from this place.

By depicting the Khenpalung cave, they believe that many wishes will be fulfilled, such as; Desire for children, acquisition of wealth, recovery from snakebite, desire to renounce any caste etc. There is a saying that even if you perform Khenpalung only once in your life, you don't have to take it after death, but according to Dharma Guru Sri Padmasambhava, when a person is born in Kali Yuga, the beginning of a person will be from this Khenpalung.
